2022 Bike Count Program

The 2022 Citizen Bike Count Program mobilized 612 volunteers in the 10 cities who counted people-on-bicycles along major roads in Quezon, Marikina, Pasig, San Juan, Baguio, Naga, Cebu, Mandaue, Iloilo, and Davao to help cities establish baseline data and monitor movements of people riding bicycles as they traverse along cities’ road infrastructures. The collaboration between cities and citizens through the Bike Count also contributes to the national data.

The report intends to provide a baseline for an annual volunteer count program and to encourage local conversations about the importance of monitoring and baseline data gathering such as bicycle and pedestrian counts to inform planning and advocacies for more inclusive and sustainable transportation options for cities and communities.
